My Promise, My Rainbow

Each morning I wake and it is you that I see,

In the swoosh of the wind and the birds in a tree;

For you are the morning with the freshness of dew,

And the budding flowers showing petals brand new.

You are the sunshine which brightens each day,

You conquer the darkness with one single ray.

For you are the life that I love to see,

For you are the rainbow living in me.

Share me your rainbow,

Fill me with joy;

Give me the dreams,

Of a small, little boy.

Show me eternity,

One day at a time;

And help me to know God,

That you’ll always be mine.

In life there are days filled with stress and with toil,

Days when the pressures bring tempers to boil;

When feelings are missed and sadly confused,

And New Age ideas are thought of and used.

It is then that your love fills my life with such peace,

And laughter and joy, I pray will not cease;

For you complete me, uplift, and make me feel whole,

For you can make life’s diamonds from my life’s darkened coal.

And now I wonder how it is that you love,

A person so needy and far from above;

A person whose heart is filled with despair,

A person whose life needs such serious repair.

Yet you hold me and hug me as tight as you can,

You touch and remold me into a God-filled man.

You change my gray heart into lights of color,

You paint me a rainbow that glows like no other.

Share me your rainbow,

Fill me with joy;

Give me the dreams,

Of a small, little boy.

Show me eternity,

One day at a time;

And help me to know God,

That you’ll always be mine.

Using crayons of the spirit you show me the way,

You are my promise throughout any day.

So now I give thanks for your love from above,

Which empowers my heart as a spirit filled dove;

It fills me with thanks for running away,

From the things which blind my heart everyday.

And drawing me closer to your promise of above,

In your forever rainbow of heavenly love.
