The
Walk
(Activity: Blind fold a youth. Put tape down and have the youth follow the tape.)
What's wrong? Why can't you follow the path?
Would it help if I gave you some
people to help you walk the path?
(Choose three people. Two should tell her to go the wrong way. One should tell her to go the right way.)
It was hard to stay on the path
--on focus -- wasn't it? Why?
What could we have done to make
your "walk" better?
Let's talk about our walk... Our walk with Jesus.

Explorers on an expedition spend a considerable amount of
time preparing for their journey. They
exercise. They plan a nutritional
diet. They seek out "high energy
nutrition. They carry with then things
that are essential for their survival during the long journey. In a baseball game, the players prepare a
long time for a game. They understand
the rules thoughly, develop the skill levels of the
players, meet regularly to discuss strategy and they follow their coach. The
game is a battle to see which team will be victorious.
Now, we are on a journey or rather a battle for
victory. We are preparing to meet the
Father -- in person in heaven at "home plate". When all the angles will greet us with high fives
and pats on our rears.. That's our goal. We want to get around the bases -- get
through life her on earth -- and claim the victory of Jesus for ourselves and
for our team and for the Lord. We want
to get there -- BUT, as a Christian, what are some of the things we will need
in order to make the trip around the bases of life. (Wait for answers)
